International Endorsement Boosts Global Reach

In late 2023, KSMU accomplished a revolutionary momentous by securing authorization from the World Federation of Medical Education (WFME) for three of its key programs—General Medicine, Dentistry, and Nursing. This recognition decided through the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR), opens new openings for graduates, making them qualified for ECFMG certification, the USMLE exam, and a wide range of international career paths starting in 2024.

Student Excellence at National Scientific Forums

KSMU’s students have demonstrated exceptional performance beyond medical education. At the XVIII Youth “Tsiolkovsky Readings”—a prestigious forum event promoting interest in astronautics and aerospace—KSMU students presented research in field such as space medicine, ecology, and aviation history. There notable achievements included:

• Thakare Deven Vishnu, a second-year student, won a first-degree diploma for his project on India’s achievements in space exploration.
• Hamid Ahmed Salah Ismail, a fourth-year student, received a second-degree diploma for his research on the first Syrian cosmonaut.
• Additional projects addressing post-flight adaptation through yoga and indoor air purification using aromatic oils earned special prizes.

Strengthening Ties through Academic Mobility

In April 2024, Dean Svetlana Gromova from KSMU’s Faculty of Dentistry, conducted a sucessful visit to the Belarusian State Medical University. Through practical lectures and interactive training sessions, she introduced Belarusian students to KSMU’s “Karyology” research laboratory and its works on oral hygiene products and disease prevention. The exchange culminated in her serving as a jury member for an international student competition in paediatric dentistry, reinforcing academic collaboration between both universities.

KSMU maintains an active and vibrant campus life. In 2025, the university organized numerous events including:

With a growing student population of nearly 9,000 in 2024, including over 500 international students from 39 countries, KSMU has definitely established its place in global medical education.
